Sim Hup Seng has a long history, stretching back to the 1980s. From generation to generation, this business was passed down through the family line. In 2010, Thomas was entrusted with Sim Hup Seng from his father, Mr. Lim SY, and renamed it to Sim Hup Seng Services. Being new in this sector, Thomas had big shoes to fill. Regardless, he was also determined to change, to improve on the quality of services. So as to get a feel of the manual labour, Thomas handled each request personally. It was during one of those requests he was carrying out that motivated him to improve on the design of toilets.
Thomas witnessed an old lady having difficulty climbing up the previous Stainless Steel Portable Toilet. After helping her up the toilet, he noticed the flaws in the previous toilets that posed a serious problems to the elderly. Together with the high steps, the squatting- style toilet bowl and the slippery floor also hampered the use of toilets for the elderly. Emphatizing with the old lady, Thomas knew that he had to improve on the current design of the portable toilets. To make sure everyone would be able to use the toilet with ease and comfort, Thomas worked hard designing the new toilet. Finally, in September 2011, the toilet was ready for the market.
Hence, we present you our improved 'ELDER-FRIENDLY' toilet, equipped with eldery-friendly facilities. Since its introduction, these batch of toilets were well-received by the public and impressed many satisfied customers.
This new toilet was a pioneer, a breakthrough in the industry. These enhancements has led to many similar adjustments in other sectors too. Although this has raised the competitiveness in the industry, Thomas is still glad to be able to improve the quality of service provided.

我们的故事
新合成是个20多年的老招牌。早期是开源老板，林瑞远先生，以新合成铁棚业 (Sim Hup Seng Steel Structures) 的招牌来经营生意。Thomas老板在2009年尾开始帮忙父亲管理公司，并在2010年以新合成服务 (Sim Hup Seng Services) 来经营流动厕所和雪柜的生意。把流动厕所和棚布的生意区分开来。那时新合成服务 (Sim Hup Seng Services) 已经从原本只有10只铁厕，增至成拥有19只铁厕的流动厕所公司，提供华人丧事和马来结婚的流动厕所服务。
Thomas认为做什么事都必须从最底层做起。做出租流动厕所的生意也一样，必须自己去体验搬运厕所的酸甜苦乐，才会从日晒雨淋中了解到员工们工作的辛酸和得到一些意想不到的启发。
有一次，在Thomas带领员工去服务一组丧礼时，他目睹一位年迈的老妇极辛苦的想要攀上铁厕的夹梯。他连忙上前扶持老妇并协助她登上铁厕。过了许久，老妇如厕完后，Thomas又帮忙扶她下夹梯。老妇抱怨自己已老迈，双脚无力，要登上夹梯上个厕所已是一个很艰难的挑战。如厕时还要她蹲下，简直是苦不堪言。老妇百般无奈地诉苦着。。。她的话一字一字地触动了Thomas，也刺痛了他的心。他不希望看到年迈的老妇连用个流动厕所，都感到这么无助。他想为老妇和其他年迈的长辈们做点事。于是Thomas开始了他的新构思。他想要设计出比较经济实惠，而且非常适用于乐龄人士的流动厕所。
整整用了8个月的时间设计和改良，第一批为乐龄人士而设计的厕所终于在2011年9月面市了。这10只用塑料厕改装的厕所，厕内面积宽大，厕所的地板只离地少于15cm，而且也安装了陶瓷坐式马桶。这样一来，乐龄人只须踏一小步就能进入厕内。比起铁厕的一个夹梯，简直轻松多了。更重要的是双腿无力的乐龄人可以坐在马桶上，不必在担忧双脚无法蹲的问题了。而且厕所里也设有防滑地板，花洒，镜子，洗手盆，吊衣架等等。设备比起原本的铁厕完善多了。
这厕所广受乐龄人士欢迎。这使Thomas决定要全新改革，把所有的铁厕更换，引进了更多的乐龄人士的塑厕。第二批32架塑厕也因此在2013年5月面市了。这批新塑厕也势必为流动厕所这一行业带来一阵新风潮。
Thomas相信所有同行会跟风而改进自己的厕所以迎合市场的需求。他希望自己的创新能使流动厕所的水平提高，乐龄人士也因此不用再为使用流动厕所这事而烦恼了。

The company Sim Hup Seng was incorporated more than 20 years ago to meet the growing demands of portable sanitation in Singapore. Embarking with 10 stainless steel manhole toilets to specially cater to funeral and wedding events, Sim Hup Seng has progressively gained an established name in this business sector by refining and enhancing our products to ensure that we deliver the upmost comfort and convenience to our esteemed customers. Taking into consideration much appreciated feedback from clients, we fine-tuned our product into fiber-glass manhole toilets with a range of facilities to meet your needs.
